Gliclazide

A sulfonylurea drug that helps the pancreas produce more insulin.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar levels.

This combination medication works by improving the body's response to insulin. Gliclazide stimulates insulin release from the pancreas. Pioglitazone increases insulin sensitivity in tissues. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin uptake by cells.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage is individualized and determined by your doctor based on your specific needs and response to treatment.

This medication is typically taken orally, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal of the day.

Less common but serious side effects can include: low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), heart failure, liver problems, and fluid retention.

Common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, weight gain, headache, and muscle aches.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can lower blood sugar levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol consumption while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medication can cause dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision, which may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women as it may harm the fetus or infant. Consult your doctor about alternative treatment options.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

This medication can affect kidney function. It may need to be adjusted or avoided in patients with kidney problems.



Liver

This medication can affect liver function. It may need to be adjusted or avoided in patients with liver problems.
