Fluorometholone

Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as glucocorticoids.

Fluorometholone is used to treat a variety of inflammatory conditions of the eye, such as:

Allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva, the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye)

Uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye)

Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea, the clear outer layer of the eye)

Episcleritis (inflammation of the white part of the eye)

Scleritis (inflammation of the white part of the eye that extends deeper than episcleritis)

Iritis (inflammation of the iris, the colored part of the eye)

Cyclitis (inflammation of the ciliary body, the part of the eye that produces fluid)

Corneal ulcers (open sores on the cornea)

Flomex Eye Oint 10gm (Fluorometholone) works by reducing inflammation in the eye. It does this by suppressing the release of chemicals that cause inflammation.

Store Fluorometholone at room temperature, away from heat and light.

The dosage of Fluorometholone will vary depending on the condition being treated and the severity of the inflammation.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.

Fluorometholone is typically administered as eye drops.

The eye drops should be applied directly into the affected eye(s) as directed by your doctor.

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the eye drops.

Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface.

Like all medications, Fluorometholone can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Some common side effects include:

More serious side effects are rare but can occur.

Burning or stinging of the eye

Eye irritation

Redness of the eye

Blurred vision

Headache

Alcohol Consumption

The effects of alcohol on Fluorometholone are not well-documented. It's best to consult with your doctor about alcohol consumption while using this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Fluorometholone can cause blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision is clear.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Children
