Danazol

Danazol is the active ingredient in Danazol drug formulations.It is a synthetic steroid that has both androgenic (male hormone-like) and anti-estrogenic (blocks the effects of female hormones) properties.

Endometriosis: Danazol is used to treat painful periods and pelvic pain caused by endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.

Fibroids: It can also be used to treat uterine fibroids, noncancerous growths in the uterus that can cause heavy bleeding and pain.

Other conditions: Danazol may be used to treat other conditions, such as precocious puberty (early puberty), breast cancer, and hereditary angioedema (a rare genetic disorder that causes swelling).

Danogen 50mg Cap (Danazol) works by reducing the production of hormones that stimulate the growth of the lining of the uterus. This reduces the severity of endometriosis and fibroids. It also has anti-inflammatory effects, which can help to reduce pain.

Danazol should be stored at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

The dosage of Danazol varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.

It is usually taken by mouth, once or twice a day, with or without food.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and duration of treatment for you.

Common side effects of Danazol include weight gain, acne, oily skin, hair loss, mood swings, and menstrual irregularities.

Serious side effects are possible, including liver problems, blood clots, and heart problems.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of liver damage while taking Danazol. It is best to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Danazol may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Danazol is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It can harm the fetus or pass into breast milk.



Children

Danazol is not typically used in children unless for specific conditions, such as precocious puberty.



Kidney

Danazol may affect kidney function. If you have kidney problems, talk to your doctor before taking this medication.



Liver

Danazol can cause liver problems. If you have liver problems, talk to your doctor before taking this medication.
