Chlortalidone

A thiazide-type diuretic (water pill) that helps your body get rid of excess salt and water.

Losartan

An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

May be used in patients with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure to reduce cardiovascular risk

Chlortalidone increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body, reducing blood volume and pressure. Losartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and lower blood pressure. The combined effect provides a more potent blood pressure reduction than either drug alone.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dizziness

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Dizziness and lightheadedness are potential side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Chlortalidone + Losartan is generally not recommended during pregnancy. Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It's also not recommended during breastfeeding, consult your doctor.



Children

The use of Chlortalidone + Losartan is not typically recommended for children. Dosage and safety in children have not been established.



Kidney

Patients with kidney problems may require dose adjustment. This medication should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function.
