Darbepoetin Alfa

Is a synthetic form of erythropoietin, a hormone naturally produced by the kidneys that stimulates the production of red blood cells.

Treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease in adults and children.

Treatment of anemia in patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy.

Treatment of anemia in patients undergoing autologous bone marrow transplantation.

Cresp 200mcg/0.4ml Pfs Inj (Darbepoetin Alfa) works by binding to erythropoietin receptors on red blood cell precursors in the bone marrow, stimulating their production and maturation.

Store darbepoetin alfa in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze.

The dosage of darbepoetin alfa is individualized based on the patient's needs and response to treatment.

It is typically administered intravenously or subcutaneously.

The frequency of administration can range from once every 1 to 4 weeks.

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or operating Machinery

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Darbepoetin alfa should not be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. It is unknown if darbepoetin alfa passes into breast milk. Consult with your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medication while breastfeeding.



Children

Darbepoetin alfa is approved for use in children with chronic kidney disease.
