Besifloxacin

Besifloxacin is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones.

Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) in adults and children 1 year of age and older.

Besix Eye Drops 5ml (Besifloxacin) works by killing bacteria that cause infection. It does this by interfering with the bacteria's ability to produce essential proteins needed for their survival.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze.

The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) every 12 hours for 5 days.

Do not use for longer than 5 days without consulting your doctor.

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the eye drops.

Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch, and drop the medication into the pouch.

Close your eye gently and hold it closed for 1 minute.

Burning or stinging in the eye

Alcohol Consumption

No specific interactions with alcohol have been reported. However, it is always best to consult your doctor.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Besifloxacin can cause blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Safety and efficacy have been established in children 1 year of age and older.



Kidney

No dose adjustment is generally required for patients with kidney problems.



Liver

No dose adjustment is generally required for patients with liver problems.
