Cilnidipine blocks calcium channels in blood vessel walls, causing vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and reducing peripheral vascular resistance. Bisoprolol blocks beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart, reducing heart rate and contractility. The combined effect leads to a significant reduction in blood pressure.
