Beclometasone

Beclometasone is the active ingredient in this medication.It is a type of medicine called a corticosteroid.

Treatment of asthma, both in adults and children.

Treatment of allergic rhinitis (hayfever) in adults and children.

Treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Beclomethasone Dipropionate Inhalation Ip 200mcg (Beclometasone) works by reducing inflammation in the airways. It does this by blocking the release of certain chemicals that cause inflammation. This helps to reduce symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight.

The dosage of beclometasone will vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient.

Always follow the directions of your doctor or pharmacist.

This medication is usually inhaled using an inhaler.

It can also be administered as a nasal spray or tablet.

Common side effects include: hoarseness, dry mouth, thrush (oral yeast infection), headache.

Less common side effects include: slow growth in children, high blood sugar, cataracts, glaucoma.

Rare side effects include: weakened bones, skin thinning, bruising, weight gain, mood changes.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally safe to consume alcohol while taking beclometasone.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medication is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is important to talk to your doctor before taking beclometasone if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Beclometasone is safe for use in children, but the dosage will be adjusted based on their age and weight.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, you may need to take a lower dose of beclometasone.



Liver

If you have liver problems, you may need to take a lower dose of beclometasone.
