Levonorgestrel

A progestin (synthetic progesterone) that prevents ovulation.

Ethinyl Estradiol

An estrogen that helps to thicken the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus.

Ferrous Fumarate

An iron supplement that helps to prevent iron deficiency anemia, a common side effect of some birth control pills.

Prevention of pregnancy.

Regulation of menstrual cycles.

Treatment of acne.

Reduction in menstrual bleeding.

May also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.

This combination pill works by preventing ovulation (release of an egg from the ovary) and thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. It also alters the lining of the uterus, making it less likely for a fertilized egg to implant.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight.

Take one pill daily at the same time each day.

Follow the instructions on the prescription label carefully.

If you miss a pill, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Do not stop taking this medication without talking to your doctor.

Nausea

Alcohol Consumption

Moderate alcohol consumption may be okay, but it's important to discuss with your doctor as excessive alcohol intake can increase the risk of some side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It can harm the fetus or pass into breast milk.



Children

This medication is not intended for use in children.



Kidney

May affect kidney function in some individuals. Consult with your doctor if you have kidney problems.



Liver

May affect liver function in some individuals. Consult with your doctor if you have liver problems.
