Memantine

Hydrochloride is the active ingredient in medications containing memantine.

Admenta Xr 7mg Tab (Memantine) is a non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. It modulates the effects of glutamate, a neurotransmitter involved in learning and memory, by blocking the NMDA receptor, reducing excitotoxicity, and improving synaptic plasticity. This action helps to improve cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease.

Store at room temperature (below 25°C). Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional and adjusted based on individual patient needs and tolerance.

Typically, treatment starts with a low dose and is gradually increased over several weeks.

Children

Not indicated for use in children.



Kidney

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired liver function.
