Cefazolin is the active ingredient in this medication.It is a type of antibiotic called a cephalosporin.
Cefazolin is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:

Adcef Inj 1gm (Cefazolin) works by killing bacteria that cause infection. It does this by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall. This weakens the bacterial cell wall and causes the bacteria to die.
Store cefazolin at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
The dosage of cefazolin will vary depending on the type of infection being treated, the patient's age, weight, and kidney function.
It is typically given by injection into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly).
The injection may be given over a few minutes or as a continuous infusion over several hours.
