Acarbose is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-glucosidase inhibitors.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Acarbose is used to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
It can be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications.
Acarboz 25mg Tab (Acarbose) works by slowing down the breakdown of complex carbohydrates (starches) in the small intestine. This delays the absorption of glucose (sugar) into the bloodstream, helping to lower blood sugar levels after meals.
Store acarbose at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C).
Protect from light and moisture.
Keep acarbose out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not use acarbose if the seal is broken or the medication has changed color or consistency.
The dosage of acarbose will vary depending on your individual needs and medical condition.
It is usually taken three times a day with the first bite of each main meal.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole with a full glass of water.
It is important to take acarbose regularly as directed by your doctor. Do not skip doses or stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor.
